Do not recreate what has been created already like Facebook and Meetup, use what you have built for years for the future. It is time for the email platforms like Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft Outlook, Google Business Gail, and Yahoo business emails to offer platform like social media in the existing email product instead of promoting out of box solution like Hangout and Yammer. In this article, I want to highlight lack of features for employee to employee communication in the current email platform and the need for future email solution that does not meet today’s world. Next Generation email platform should have clear separation between employee to employee communication and employee to outside world communication.
Shorter, quick and crisp social short message is the way to go for future co-worker communication within our email platform. Like buttons and Emoji are biggest reason for quick acknowledgement and response back to the sender. At the same time we see us getting tons of post or comments we get in our social media that we read and respond faster and quicker than emails. We see people complain all the time about number of emails they get in there work emails and not having enough time to respond all.
